Because its called product development, maybe they like to get some serious miles under the belt, rather than 5 hours on a dyno and release it, they can't win

Of course they push the hardware in development, mainly to see what happens to intake temps and then bring back to levels they are happy with, maps that are running more bhp are pushing more boost simples

So unitronic have rushed it then? And how can Apr have a stage 1 & 2 out for the 1.8 when they've been playing with it for less time than the 2.0. I'm not discrediting your points wigit, just saying it's strange.

Maybe they have spent 5 hours on a dyno and are happy putting a product out, who knows how much R&D they have put in, if they are happy then great

Why is it strange, they have a finite resource in terms of people and a development programme, these are global players so its interesting when you chat about what is their best product line, also how much demand is there given the R forum are TD1 mad people are not modding these cars so much

Revo's car has done 11k now and is on the original turbo and not had the easiest of lives

They do have finite resources, so why develop the 1.8 stage 2 first? Even with all the warranty worries, surely they'd get more custom from the Cupra and R than a less commonly tuned engine.

Maybe the 1.8 has higher demand as its used in more cars

You'll go down well on the Rforum with the amount of conspiracy theories and internet rumours

I don't see that Shark have released anything for the R despite having Millteks at their disposal, obviously the GTI is Stage 2 as they had theirs, given the close ties I'm not surprised the Milltek makes more power than a BCS in terms of published figures

When companies are happy they release product simples

They have done a few Rs and S3s but they haven't updated their website, most info is on Facebook.

Milltek does seem to make more power top end but the bcs had a better delta across the range.

What's a forum for if not for conspiracies

Personally i think politically the BCS could never make more than a Milltek at Shark to many vested interests ;)

Would be nice to get posts based on an element of fact rather than the hypothasising by the serial modded from burton who just does not get how the tuning world works

i think it is fairly obvious for those who know the industry as great for pushing preferred partners product

experience also dictates use a tuner neutral dyno for figures, not got a clue what my R makes or my previous Ed35, i'm told what they made but actually not that bothered

I understand the cashcows are in stage 1s but stage 2 gives them an excuse to push their hardware so it's still worth getting it out when you can. I know one cupra that's been running stage 2 for a few months now but still no official release, just don't know why it's taking Apr and revo so long.

Meant to add savage that eurodyne also have stage 2 out as well but I don't know much about them.

Just checked out Eurodyne's Stage 2 tune and actually wow, it's pretty impressive. I first read it as 301BHP and not WHP! Over 300 at the wheels is nuts! Especially if we take into account the average 15% of power lost at the wheels.

APR released Stage 1 before Revo so maybe the same will happen again. Revo seem to focus more on their R.
