The bolsters dont heat up at all with the heated seats. So while your bum is roasting you have the strangest cold feeling down the side of your legs.
It has actually put me off using them although it was one of the first options I ticked.

If you were towing a trailer or heaven forbid a caravan you may want to turn them off when maneuvering otherwise they would get to be a major pain in the a**e

I would strongly suspect that they automatically get disabled when you connect something to the tow bar socket.
The car certainly knows if you connect something up (as it will disable the s/s rubbish).

Correct they do disable when towing. @night blue you don't need to take your eyes of the road to look at the screen when parking. If you are reversing your rear sensors are beeping and when you move forward to park your front sensors bleep.

I still cant get my head around the side mirrors and their functionality.

Unless i'm doing something wrong, they passenger side only auto-dips with reverse when the selector knob is pointing at left. Though if it's doing that, it wont heat up with the rear demister, for that, you have to select something else.

Also, Postcode search on the Nav. WHY NO SELECT ABC FIRST GOLF?!

Passenger mirror is the only that dips on reverse and you need to toggle the switch to the left. You dont need your rear demister on for the wing mirrors to defog. You get used to the Nav after a while.

I asked myself the same question - to understand why think where it's programmed => Germany.
Most of Europe has managed to number their houses ok and you can find any place with StreetName 123 and a four to five digit [numbers only] post code... and so the Germans make you push another button to make letters appear. Silly you can't change letters as default thou.

Given the lenghts VW go to make the golf lighter, i have just weighted the driver manual, aswell as taking up most of the glove box it weights just over 1.1kg.

As i have never looked at it in 6 months of car ownership i have now put it in the drawer in my hallway.

Blinding!

Good call.  You car is probably now saving more fuel than Eco mode.

Haha!

The low washer fluid indicator annoys me, cones on and has what looks like a serious triangle stamped on the DIS and pings too much!

Also having a one year old who's car seat in in the back,  keyless entry (got it for this very reason)  doesn't work on the back doors,  so I have to go to the front then move back.  Minor but seriously annoying!

You are right about the washer fluid indicator, most annoying thing.

I had it on for almost 2 weeks and it still hadn't run out, then it took a good 10 mins to fill it back up!

Not sure why it needs to come on so soon..

I'm pretty sure that the washer bottle holds more than the fuel tank......
