1.8t AUM Problem
« on: 23 September 2014, 19:46 »
Hello all,

This morning i went out to my car to go to work and it wouldnt start, i turned the key and it bogged like crazy for about 3 seconds then cut out, it did this twice and on the third time i had my foot on the throttle a little and it started up perfect as it would normally, i quickly plugged it in and i had the Fuel trim bank 1 (multi) system too rich code, i cleared it drove to work (about 10 miles) and plugged it back in and i had no codes, i came out after work it started up fine, i was heading up a slip road to the a30 and i had lost a lot of power i was in 3rd and felt like i was pulling in 5th from 40mph so i let off and on a few times and the power came back, , i have noticed over the passed few weeks theres been little misfires when idling but not when when driving just a big power lose, i do have weepy injector seals too that i have been meaning to do as there getting quite bad, do you think this is related? i only use vpower so its not to do with cheap fuel, but im stuck with what to do, any help will be much appreciated, thanks

Im not sure what the cause was but I had the same problem and the result was severe internal damage.

You can get it deleted if you map it

Either your driving through a coal mine on your way to work every day or you have a birds nest in your air box.

No way should you be going through that amount of Maf's. Even the GSF, Euro carparts exchange last nearly 12months.

I have the s2000 filter, I have no idea why it does it, but I'll put a new one on it and it'll be fine again
