and.... what are peoples set up on forge 008
« on: 11 September 2014, 15:33 »
Running a stage 2 ecu and upgraded  to a forge 008 and had forge 007 on with yellow spring. Now i tried car with forge 008 with yellow seemed abit weak. Put 1 spacer in abit better. Put 2 in and now seems to hit boost of 23/24/25psi which seems high for a stage 2.

What is a average stage 2 psi?

And what are people running on a 008?

Its not excessively high, mine is a stage 2 and boosts between 22-25 psi. on a 007p though with a yellow spring
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Same as me pal. But since changing to 008 yellow spring seems to drive different. In 3rd at 4000rpm my boost starts dropping below 20psi quite quick sometimes im not hitting 21/22?? But when tried with 2 shims car felt bogged down and was boosting to 25psi but it actually felt slower?

25psi is a lot for a typical stage 2 map and boost will tail off quickly after 4/4.5k

Could be leaking causing over boost to compensate

Thing is is a amd stage 2 map from guy on here and i too thought 22-24psi high on k03s. I might leave the yellow spring in it untill actuator replaced and check pipes etc make sure all are good. Then take the shims to rtech incase needed?
