Tyre pressure warning
« on: 02 September 2014, 09:22 »
So the other day I saw my first tyre pressure warning - nothing too odd about that you might think...

But it activated for all 4 tyres simultaneously - and no, I hadn't driven over a stinger (they weren't even chasing me *ahem*  at the time)

Checked all the pressures, they are fine, reset the system and everything's good since.

Anyone else had it spaz out like this?

Cheers

Fred

Thanks - I wondered if it was to do with a rapid temperature change or something? It had got really cold and wet the other afternoon up here.

Mine did it over the weekend. Checked the pressures and all seemed fine, so I just reset it too. It'd be useful if it would tell you which tyre is the problem...

It does tell you if you have a problem with a specific tyre. In this case it sounds like the system just needed a reset.

Yeah someone I know had it go off once before, but warning about a specific tyre, so I guess it does work.

Oh really? Mine just gave a generic warning about the tyre pressures but definitely didn't specify which one. The graphic of the car was displayed on screen with all tyres highlighted!

Mine went off with a non specific warning the first time I did a long journey after changing the wheels and tyres. I reset it and haven't had any repeat since.

It definately detects loss of pressure and tells you which one as mine told me i had a problem with osr. It works from the abs sensors so if both back tyres go down together it wont dtec a problem.

Just out of curiosity what should the tyre pressure be, when my warning went of I checked & found I had 42psi which seems very high.
