Not much point in all fairness pal.  OEM cams are fairly damn good.

I ran a 296 Kent cam in a mini and by god it was like a turbo kicking in at 3,000 rpm
I wouldn't want that to kick in and then the turbo off an uprated golf especially if one overlapped the other

Have intergrated engineering inlet cam on order now see how that pans out.

Asked this myself before. As kent etc make after market cams with claimed good gains. But i think with the huge range of turbo related mods just seems no one bothers

Your only looking at a 15-20BHP increase MAX from a cam, and for best part of £500 seems pointless

It's recommended to do some more head work to get the best out of aftermarket cams, most members with uprated cams are also running quite a lot of top end power. Dependent o the spec of the cams you ordered you stand to lose a lot of low end grunt which is fine if you gain a lot more top end. My uncle gained over 100 bhp top end but then he was making quite a lot of power to begin with, the cams allowed his engine to breathe that much better.

What valves/valve springs/retainers did you go for?
