Car DeLocked & Battery Dead Help!
« on: 13 August 2014, 22:18 »
Hi guys,

I have had my golf 2004 MK5 3 door manual for 6 years now. The previous owner for some reason decided to delocked the car.

I recently been away for few days and come back to find my car is completely dead. I tried to open it with the key but there is no lock anywhere I can find to put key in. Also the fob works but as battery is dead it cant unlock the car.

So wondering what is the best way to get in maybe through the front bonnet by somehow opening it (not sure if that is possible)? Any better suggestions?

Thanks

There is no key entry anywhere on the car, only way i read is to get bonnet open and charge the battery

Have you got breakdown cover? If so they'll usually come out and use one of their special tools to get into the car for you

Great news and bad news.

I have managed to open the bonnet and now charged battery. But issue is the key FOB no longer works with the car. Not sure what has happened. It flashes fine and has batteries in it, so not sure if its due to need configuring or synching again. What be next step to get this looked into?

Thanks

If you have two keys you can do it yourself

Its for a MK6 but then in theory it should be the same?

Finally great news and sort of bad news :D

We managed to get in the car after bending the door slightly and putting the key into the ignition. Then jump started it and bang we were in :)

Now issue is the car as soon i turned the car of, the battery died. I tried turn ignition, it was trying to connect battery but then died out. So something in the car seems to be draining the battery, not sure what and where to even start looking now as this has come out the blue.

could be faulty battery or altenator -check those with a voltmeter before lookin for a drain .but that too is simple to check . lots of examples on utube on how to do it
