Hi,
Unfortunately I'm not able to get the fault codes read. I've not had a chance to check if the timing belt has moved but I am pretty sure it hasn't. The car was parked up for about 2-3 months unstarted. In that time the ISV did get stuck so it wouldn't idle (this I have now freed up). Before it was left it definitely would rev cleanly to the red line (this I am 100% certain of) so I am more inclined believe its a dodgy sensor somewhere.
The fuel pump and ECU relays had recently been replaced, the crank position sensor, cambelt, waterpump, ECU coolant temp sensor, breather hoses, plugs etc and the car ran perfectly fine after this.
Any other ideas? It's not really 5k, its about 4.5k that it starts to struggle.
If anybody in the Hinckley area has vagcom and they could scan for me that would be great. I have tonnes of mk3 spares (currently have 5 mk3s to my name plus loads of bits and bobs from a few I have broken so would happily trade scanning for some parts).
cheers
