Finally for round to sorting it all this evening. I have to say the engine seems to run a lot quieter and smoother without the catch can in.
Checked all the pipe work that was installed with the catch can and it was almost totally blocked with gunk, I suspect the tubing was too small to begin with.
The previous owner had also bypassed the N249 valve, I've left this as it was because everything I have read points towards a much smoother application on boost.
Installed my boost gauge today as well, boost is hiding steady at around 0.6 bar, sounds about right as standard psi is 7-8.
I've ripped out the induction kit and put the air box back in with a performance filter, seems to have done the trick, engine was suffering with the heat produced from the engine and the hot weather as the standard intercooler isn't exactly the biggest on this car.
