I've been waiting for this map for so long & now that it's been released there is a lot of negatives

Firstly having dsg people have said 1st to 2nd has become less than smooth.

Also been mentioned the diff on pp will only handle toque of 280fp

Then there is warranty , any problems that might arise with any of the oily parts will.be impossible to claim because vw will read the ecu & give it a td1 which voids the warranty for the 3 years.

Then lastly drive ability, is 1st - 2nd going to be impossible to get the power down .

Just a few concerns, but having said all that will probably get it booked next week.

The TD1 flag is concerning me aswell....im seriously considering cancelling my appointment on Monday.

From what I can Google - Audi have had this system in place since 2012 but im unsure when VW started using it. My doubt regarding what does and does not happen regarding TD1 flags / dealers / warranty is based on the fact our Scirocco was mapped and in late 2013 we had a new clutch assy replaced on warranty....so obviously either the TD1 flag was not a issue for the claim or they never scanned the car.

At this stage I might wait it out to see what happens and if anyone reports issues with VW uk and TD1 flags

I think if you have a manual gearbox you will probably kill the clutch Apr have a disclaimer on there website stating this ,I'm still on the fence but have a couple weeks before the 20% off deal ends to make my mind up.

Monsta - were you advised to add an uprated cooler (intercooler?) when available?

Yeah they said if it didn't put out the figures published then it might need an upgraded intercooler.  But it was suggested that it wouldn't be a problem for stage 1.

The guys I went to said that it if was going into VW even for a service they could put it back to standard for me.  I think in terms of the clutch you have to treat it carefully, really depends on how you intend to drive it.  If you're gonna rag it around everywhere all the time then you'll have problems but personally I intend to use the extra power in careful measure.

According to the ABT powered GTI article in "Volkswagen Driver" magazine this month they have talked to VW
and have subsequently limited the power to 300BHP and the torque to 310lbft, especially for the DSG box! I have a manual box and so assume you could push it a bit further, depending on how you drive.

I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. There are people running 400bhp in mk6's on standard dsg boxes... let's save these concerns for when they release stage 2+

Still undecided what to go for, Apr abt or dtuk.

Apr with 316bhp & 381ft-lbs sounds good but worried all that toque with break something.

Dtuk has the bonus of being able to remove it when needed, but has lower power & could be a problem for me installing it, because I'm rubbish under the bonnet.

Abt could be the sweet spot for power &torque, but will need to speak to them about pricing, don't want to spend more than £600.
