Some fault code help...
« on: 07 July 2014, 22:23 »
Hey,

I've just bought an 05 plate Gti and gave it a quick scan with Vagcom, after clearing the old codes there are the ones that remained:

Address 08: Auto HVAC        Labels: 1K0-907-044.lbl
   Part No: 1K0 907 044 AB
   Component: ClimatronicPQ35 066 0404
   Shop #: WSC 00000 000 00000
   VCID: 67DD5D1756980F26359-8032

2 Faults Found:
00797 - Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
00709 - Sunlight Photosensor 2 (G134)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent

   Shop #: WSC 01392 785 00200

Subsystem 1 - Component:   Sounder No Answer

   Subsystem 2 - Part No: 1K0 907 719 B
   Component: Neigungssensor  004 0003

   Subsystem 3 - Part No: 1K0 951 177
   Component: Innenraumueberw.004 0101

1 Fault Found:
01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
            004 - No Signal/Communication

The alarm horn doesn't sound when the alarm goes off nor when locking/unlocking the car (with chirps enabled), so I'm assuming that the horn needs replacing.

It's the 2 photo sensors that I'm stuck with....any advice would be appreciated

Photo sensor is glued on it... I it was replaced and old cam stripped of the old glass and glued back onto new then chances are it may have gotten damaged and may also not have been calibrated.

I thought that the photo sensor was on the dash by the centre vents, or is there another near the rear view mirror?

I think it's on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. It might be worth seeing if your intermittent wiper setting still works as if the windscreen has been replaced, the rain sensor function will also likely be faulty if this wasn't replaced. Least then you know the reason for the light sensor!

I assume you've tried setting off the alarm to see if it does work?

Cheers, the windscreen is the original as it's stamped up in the bottom corner. I'll try the intermittent wiper setting in a minute.

I've locked the car with the drivers window open and waved my arms around inside to set the alarm off, the indicators flash but there is no siren. I've also enabled alarm chirp when locking/unlocking the car via vagcom and this doesn't work either.

Cheers, that's what I though. They aren't clearing at all, I've had Vagcom on it a few more times since to enable various things and to code in the cruise control. Each time I've cleared codes they've come back immediately, is it something you've come across before?

Every day's a learning day, cheers for that. Could the sensors in the dash need replacing?
