Golf gti karmann

Hi, my first post and I'm in need of some advice! I have the opportunity of buying a 1990 (h) golf gti karmann, 98k full history and full mot..looks in fantastic condition but I'm not great with the mechanics of cars! Is there anything I need to look out for? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I used to own a 1988 clipper which was a pig..don't want to get caught again..

Not much difference in a 88 to 90 except the electric windows, roof interior! More to go wrong TBF.
It it a Rivage or Sportline? If its a genuine Karmann Clipper it should have metal bumpers, the last time I look for one they cost about 2K from a dealers
