« on: 16 June 2014, 21:54 »
Hello,

Why doesn't the aum backfire like the agu? No matter what I do my aum won't pop and bang but my mates agu will bang like fook and spit flames, just wondering.why that is?

Cheers

Mine is an AUM and it pops and produces very large flames, it does it when I come off the throttle after I was on boost and constantly on launch control. Yours might need more mods

Fook me! That must go like sh!t off a stick mate! Did you do those mods? What bhp? I've had mine for a year now, I'm 19 and spend more time cleaning it than I do driving it,  what do you think I should do next mod wise?

I wasn't aiming for power, the car is more for track use so handling took priority, can't recall exact figure, but it is over 300bhp and also over 300bhp per ton. It's not a great deal of power but it's enough to be competitive on slower circuits and fine for street use.

Next mod for you is difficult to say without knowing what sort of power you're aiming for. Most people wanting a bit more would go for a good flowing exhaust, decat, larger intake pipe, uprated actuator, good flowing front mount intercooler, s3/TT injectors, uprated fuel pump, water methanol injection and a stage 2 remap.

It goes without saying if you looking for 400+ then the above list is quite useless. I'm guessing this is your first attempt at modifying a car, its a good idea to familiarise yourself with the amount different turbos are capable of flowing.

Mental! I'm looking for about 250BHP, need to replace my cam chain tensioner first, it's tappy on start up then it goes quiet after a few minutes, but there expensive so I need to save some money and sort that then start modding, thanks for the info mate
