I highly rate it, the fitting and supplied hose makes it easy to collect the oil in a can with no spillage. As my oil filter isn't over lightly tight either, I can do an oil change without the need for any tools.

Yeah im liking this idea  a lot as it'll mean il change the oil more frequently if theres less faff and mess outside my house.

I think the one with lever posted first has a higher potential for getting caught on something as it sticks out quite far with that extension piece. The second one looks quite low profile though.

I never caught it off anything before but I'm not low enough to scrape my sump. There are bits of the sump that are lower than the drain valve, so it's not the lowest point.

I'm a bit old fashioned, I like to know if there are any serious issues with my motor, if there are metal filings/shavings/lumps of metal in the oil I would like to know. My concern is that the pump might not be able to pick up shavings from the bottom of the sump if there were any. Touch wood all goes well, it's been perfect 15k after I rebuilt it and it's unlikely by now anything goes wrong, but I like to check after each oil change.

Just out of curiosity where does everyone stick the pump to suck the oil from? I've never used one before
