Let's talk VAG.com
« on: 28 May 2014, 21:35 »
Ok....I'm still new! And even when I had TT's I never ventured into the world of VAG.com (and I've had three glasses of wine!).

There are a few things I'd like to change when I get my lovely new GTI on Fri (not neccessarily on Friday...lol!), but I'll be honest, I know fook all about VAG.com. I was wondering if someone may be able to run through the basics with me (I'm based in Nottinghamshire).I don't even know some of the terminology. I'd be happy to meet up.

Some advise on how to move forward with it would be greatly received....I want to fiddle!

Thanks in advance,

Martin

Hey Mart,

This could take some time depending on what you want to achieve pal.............
So, where shall we start and vagcom........?

Do you want to ask questions first etc?
Better still you should use the search function as 99% will have been covered

PS I used to live near Mansfield up until 2 years ago !

What i picked up from your thread is that you've had 3 glasses of wine and you want to fiddle!    Enjoy the car then start poking it!

It hasn't been VAG.COM since 2008 its VCDS but users still stick with the old name. You can download the pdf manual and the latest software and manual while you wait. VCDS Release 12.12.2 but the manual isn't very informative.

You can join the Ross-Tech Forum and ask questions after you have registered the cable with them.
