JOM coilovers - Grinding noise
« on: 27 May 2014, 22:41 »
Hi guys. finally got the coilovers fitted to my car. when out for a drive there was a grinding noise from the drivers side i fitted adjustable droplinks but still the problem persisits. I Have no clue where this noise is coming from i checked the brake guard was not fouling the disk.

Anyone got any ideas what's going on?

car is dropped 55mm no spacers on wheel standard ARB but with adjustable droplinks..

Will try get some pictures tomorow in the daylight.

many thanks in advance!

Check to see if the wheel is rubbing the coilover. This happened me.

It could be possible as there dose not seem to be much room between the coilover and the wheels inside lip.. what size spacers did you fit to the car. I am running 18" not sure on tyre size but its a really low profile.

It will be the arb rubbing on the driveshaft,  adjustable drop links often don't solve it.

this!!!

mine really annoys me, and the only reason it doesn't do it on the passenger side is the drive shaft on that side is thinner!!!!
new arb that goes under not over

not just that it's thinner, the passenger side shaft is shorter so sits at more of an angle than the drivers side

I have a feeling the whiteline one still sits over the drive shaft so if you decide to go lower at some point you'll have the same problem again. Best bet is to get an under drive shaft one.
