Another heater problem...
« on: 19 October 2003, 23:08 »
My heater gets hot instantly wich is good.
But........

After a few minutes the heater slows down and then cuts out.
Then.....

when i go over a bump after about 5 mins the heater come back alive again ???
when the heating slows down it makes a rough noise which sounds like a 'nakkerd' motor?

Any clues?

The bearing in the motor has gone maybe ? may need a new blower unit, about 200 bar i think.

Where is this dodgy item located? Is this the item in the engine bay under the black plastic cover?

Do you mean the blower stops working completely? if so check the electrical connections. If you need a to replace it then a scrappy is worth a try.

i half-inched one out of the scrappy!! as the bearing in mine had gone causing it to make a nice whirring sound

they are located below the glove box, you need to take of the plastic tray then you'll see it on the left.

to remove it, there is a clip at the back of it, u a screwdriver to undo the clip, then rotate it anticlockwise and it should come out

if yours just stops & starts then its probably just a loose connection

do u even have to take that shelve out under the glove box? I think with mine it's just a unscrew and remove. Knowing me I've left out some screws and clips in a previous fix. ;D
