I've replaced my maf 3 times with genuine ones from tps and it's still the same, yeah that's the same as me, but the past day or to its been fine, my mates agu pisses mine, his has no record of any tuning, we both done exhaust and fordge recirculation valve, other than that there both standard, when he boots his it'll wheel spin in the dry all through first and second,,mine will only spin in first in the wet, I've never been in another 1.8t apart from that's there both standard with the same sorts miles, I've never been in another 1.8t part from his so I don't know if mines under performing or if his has been chipped

I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. Changed the maf, that didn't help. Took it to vw they said it's the air filter. Changed that and now it's fine. Fingers crossed

If his wheel spins in first and second in the dry he has either:
1. Crappy suspension.
2. Knackered tyres.
3. A badly mapped car.

Or all of the above.

My mates is bog standard with Kumho tyres. With a 200 bhp remap it just scrabbles in first sometimes. Even in the wet, second is solid.

Ive unplugged my maf and it hasnt done it since so it was obviously at fault now the car runs smooth and actually feels alot faster ! So would a new maf feel even better than not having it plugged in or will it be the same ? Any ideas what tps want for them ?

I wouldn't run it for too long without a MAF as it runs on default levels for fuelling which are rich, from memory they are around £60 exchange from TPS / GSF
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Yeah it will feel better for a while but it comes back, it's very strange, like.I said I've replaced my maf 3 times from tps exchange and still have to 90quid, mines doing it again now, it's a pain in the ass a need to find out what's making it do it :)
