2500÷90 = 27.7777777778
27.7777777778×18 = 500
lol nice one, sucks as i did put 2500÷90 but the number was so long i thought i was doing it wrong ,then what would i do with 500. I will remeber this for next time as i bet i failed.

18 is wrong as you have a remainder that is useless.  I wasn't paying attention to the question so it is 19 rolls.

2500÷90 = 27.7777777778
27×19 = 513

Did you not see my post before?

Definitely 19 rolls, as hobbiniho says, you get 27 full lengths of ribbon from each roll. The 0.77 is useless and cannot be used as part of a 90cm length.

If you divide 500 gifts by 27 lengths of 90cm you get 18.5 rolls

Again, part rolls are no good. 18 rolls * 27 lengths =486 gifts therefore 19 rolls are needed to do the full 500 gifts.

Yeah i saw it, im trying to show how to put it on the test as you have to show what you did to get the answer using a calculator. Its the hardest part of the test for me. I understand you lose 70cm in each roll. lol 3 of use did the test took me 1hr 10min my brother rushed it in about 30min because he was tied from having no days off work and a girl took 1hr 30min and we all failed.  This is are second try and there will be a third

I think this was another one i could not show how to work out, but im sure i got it right as the first too are the same so the last one should be right. I lose points not showing how to work it out:
Whats the best deal ,a kettle costs £60
25% off     1/3 off   £12 off    i choose £12 off but lose points not showing how i did it on a calculator  :embarrassed:

60 quid

so 25 % _ to a 1/4 off is 15 quid

1/3 off is equal to 33.3% or 20 quid

so 12 quid off is the WORST deal is infact a 1/5 or 20%

god i hated my math phases of my courses.

I got every ANSWER wrong, but showed all working out and passed
