samsung or LG 3D smart tv?

Well after my son smashing the screen on my 3D 50" samsung plasma twice and then my daughter totally finishing it off. They wrote it off after 3 yrs of use. They offered me the full amount back. Now i have £650-£750 to spend on a nice 3D smart tv. Now with my samsung i could pop in my external hd in the usb port and watch movies. I want upto 50" but only can find upto 47" for samsung. I also want freeview HD. Now whats LG like? Iv never had an LG product. Any good news about them?

thanks for that barry but its a 40" i had 50" so its quiet a big drop in size for me also never heard of proscan. Sounds like some cheap make. Well it is a cheap make otherwise it wouldav been alot more.
i defo want smart & 3D.
samsung is active 3D & LG is passive.

Samsung are on top form with TV's imo

Why? Theresa barely anything out that will work with it!!!

Samsung for me all the way but then I'm biased I worked for them but LG is also a very good make just find a model u like the look of and google it to see what people think of it that way you can't really go wrong!

Ive just spent the past couple of weeks looking into new TVs and purchased a 42" Panasonic Viera yesterday.  I almost went for a Samsung but at that price point they were no where near as highly specced. Personally I thought the Panasonic  looked better made as well with its metal bezel where as the Samsung were glossy black plastic.

Only the lower models tend to still be plastic I have a bezel less one and it's brushed aluminium around the edge.. Many different models depends in year of manufacture spec etc and some shops put certain models on offer etc to sell overall samsung vs quality and price you will be hard pushes to find better IMO although Panasonic has made a huge effort to modernize the look of there tvs
