Bora Xenon Look Headlights - Thoughts?
« on: 11 April 2014, 16:34 »
As many of you probably know, the Bora headlights are pretty crap, and I've been on the lookout for some decent ones for a while now, most projectors I seem to have come across though are angel eyes and I really don't want to sport them on my Bora.

I was having a look today and came across these!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Headlights-set-xenon-look-LHD-VW-Bora-1999-2005-/271451770295

They look like the standard items but without HIDs fitted. Now these are available but are LHD which is a major pain in the backside. Why can't they do them RHD too?

Personally I'd buy them as I'm positive they will be able to be moved around for RHD.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.

It's a lot of money for a dead weight though if they can't be changed. I like having everything legal on my car (now...).

I have emailed the seller about this to see if they either sell RHD versions or if there is something that can be done with the LHD ones to convert them.

Have you got it through the MOT then?

As Josh says most headlights like that can be flicked between LHD and RHD.

Here's the response I got:

Dear shady_pioneer,

Many thanks for your email.

We do not have the RHD version but you can install headlamp converters which are clear stickers which are adjusting the beam pattern accordingly to RHD requirements.

As far as I have read online, the beam pattern adjuster stickers are a temporary measure for if you take your car abroad, so don't really like the idea of that.

Why hasn't someone done these lights in RHD?

Thing is, the genuine ones have Xenons, I was looking for a set that took standard bulbs so I'm not breaking any laws.
