Clutch peddle stuck to floor

So I was about to drive to manchester sell my vr6 interior. Pulled up at traffic lights and then bang (there was no bang) the clutch peddle went to the floor. Obviously I can drive the car using the revs but what is it? Some say master, some say slave, some say the fluids. If it's either of the cylinder what kinda work are we talking?

What engine is it? 8v 16v 1.9tdi or vr?

happened to my last gti 8v that.all it was the clip on the end of the clutch cable snapped , where it connects to the arm on the gear box

Mk3 8v where's the clip you talk about?

theres an ar that comes off on the side of the gear box it will be swingin freely if the cable has disconected from it -there will then be a cable some were near doin nothing too

the clip is only abot 30mm long it corrodes and snaps releasin the cable from the gear box arm - easy to fix - new clip and rubber block are only pennies new-assuming thats what happened to urs.

cant help you if its not that im affraid -but check the cable and arm 1st - simple things 1st

Arm still looks fine and the clip (if it's right one is still attached) should I be able to move the arm?

i think so , but you shouldnt be able to move it without any effort .
