Tar Spots

Its been awhile since detailing so decided to wash the daily and since they have filled and re surfaced the roads after winter, its has left me with loads of tar spots!
From memory I used clay once before and it was great, but can't remember how I used it last?
I've just ordered some dodo juice clay bar without lube and wanted to know if I can just use any car wash and water in a spray bottle?
 
I've only ever used Poorboys polish sealant with super suds, dodo juice wax so any help will be a plus!

I wouldn't try to get tar off with a clay bar personally, if you have an Autosmart dealer nearby get some Tardis from them - alternatively get an off the shelf tar remover from Autoglym or Meguiars at Halfrauds.

When you use the product it's very satisfying to see the tar spots running down the side of the car as they dissolve

+1  I wouldn't use anything else.

As for lubricant for clay, car shampoo/water mix should be fine.  If you go for a dedicated lubricant, Dodo Juice Born Slippy is good.  Alternatively, Bilt Hamber clay is designed to be used with plain old water and works very well.

Bought some autoglym Tar remover a bit expensive, but did the job!
TBF white sprite would have done the job aswell.
Thanks for the suggestions the clay bar will clean the rest up, paint not smooth as it used to be

WD40 / GT85 does a good job too.

Maxolen tar remover is another to add to the list. Does a great job
