just smoke when standing

hello  just had a massive full engine rebuild on my mk4 turbo. did have a big oil leak when it was 1st put back together .
and smoke
BUT when its running its fine but give it 2 secs when you've stopped and white smoke comes and and lots of it too?? there was a bit of oil in the water from the previous garages f**k up  ?

Porb they didnt clean out the cylinders properly a d has left some oil/water in them so its just burning rest away. Get a pic or even better a vid of it.

I had exactly that and it turned out to be my turbo

Had more play than Pamela Anderson fanny! Got it rebuilt for 380£

Do a compression test first to eliminate valve stem seals, and check your oil pick up pipe and feed, take the TIP off your turbo and you will be able to feel if it has any play

Bear in mind if it was overfilled with oil it could have dropped into the cat and is burning off, did you not check the turbo when you did rebuild?

i got bent over by a so called friend, really didnt end well at all.
i aint a mecanic put alot of faith n money into him and he just f**ked me.

Mate I just been there! Got shafted with a car with a bad turbo and valve stem seals! £1700 repair bill! So I feel your pain, but you need to find out what it is first before losing faith, it might not be bad and it might be disasterous? Chin up and keep on dubbing
