Hi. Mk4 golf gamma radio cassette with single din single CD player.
I am getting a CHK MAGAZINE message when trying to play a cd. It is not a changer there is not a changer in the boot or anywhere else.
I am putting the CDs in the right way up! If I press the TIM button and then hold the CD button for a second then I get the track number displayed but no sound emits. The cd seems to be "spinning" as it should.
I have bought a new cd unit and still have the same problem. All wires are complete and correct and it's all clean. I have removed the fuse from the back of the radio HU but still no joy.
Is it possible that the head unit needs to be reset somehow by VAGCOM to recognise a CD player.
The battery has been disconnected in the past for some central locking issues.
I am lost and don't really want to buy a new HU aswell as I will need codes etc.
