Nice spec! When did you order? My R is on it's way over and am very excited. I ordered it before anyone had a demo so have never driven one. In fact, when I ordered it I hadn't ever seen the colour I'd gone for! Haha
7R 5 door.  Limestone Grey.  19" Pretoria's, Leather, DCC, Winter pack, keyless entry, rear camera.

Nice one.  Care to share your thoughts on the test drive?

Looking to get one myself next year, though a DSG.  Will test drive when local dealer gets their demo in.

Took a 5 door Lapis Blue DSG for a test drive yesterday

It was just Stunning to drive

The rasp of the exhaust note on turn over was just the start and it sounds awesome. When under strain to zoom thru the gears even better and the punch just frightningly fast. What a ROAR!!

Now im no genius on using DSG (only ever owned manual) so i had to get quickly get my head around it and NO gear changing or clutch operation was just well 'Alien' to me. However those who own DSG will be at home here but its not for me. Having said that WOW how well it works racing through the gears. Sport selection hangs on longer and Drive is best for normal driving (but of course)

Took it thru some twisty country lanes and its just planted and i didnt even select 'Race Mode' in the DCC. I believe its even more aggressive in this mode. It was absolutely thrilling. I had to watch speed as i was getting carried away with the drive and didnt want to put a £34000 into a farmers field. Driving first time man and machine have a learning curve. Its going to be exciting lessons behind the wheel.

Ive had some naughty cars in the past but this is so far out in front the grin was huge and the revs just kept going.

standing start is warp speed thru DSG and the confidence in the car is just soooo there. From av speed say 50mph the push in the lower back and instant response is sharp and explosive so will be a stealth weapon on overtaking anywhere in the band.

It is well put together and build quality first class. Like the new dash layout and toys a plenty.

The front end i still feel is understated and the back aggressive but when behind the wheel you will be in charge of the biggest grin youve had for ages and it wont matter. Most cars in front will see a Golf behind them for a fraction of a second and the tail pipes and roar for even less.

Ordered today and expected for summer.

All i can say is 'Punch it Bishop'

Cheers. Great write up.   Used to a DSG box, and your description of it in Sport and Drive is true to form.  Won't be ordering till next May though......"..it's gonna be a long year

Oh and its totally 'objective' and in the eyes of the beholder but the 'Cadiz' alloys dont work for me.

On the Lapis they look missing but on a White R i saw they look better. The White R gives more contrast to the wheel and looks ok.

The 18inch 'Cadiz' dont fill the arch so some may opt for spacers. I note that there is a 19" version but it doesnt seem available in the UK market. Any ideas?

Anyway I went for the 19" Pretoria's i just simply prefer them although equally others may not. However they do fill the arches better IMO

Not a fan of the Cadiz either but agree they look ok against white.  Saw them up close today on a white R that was parked next to me.  I'll be going for the Pretorias though and pearl black.

Did you get good discount?

I completely agree with your assessment. I had a 20min test drive in one a week ago and the performance was mind blowing
