Chuff no whistles you own a big old smoke machine, so fess up you must have used a product at some point?

Nope. Never needed to  :lipsrsealed: BUT dismissing all this type of product is just nonsense.

I have seen first hand that " sometimes " they can and have saved people a fortune.

But hey, what would I know, I am a mere After Sales Assistant

Here's some results from cataclean added to my 110'000 miler Mk3 2.0 8v (running without cat!)
1st fast idle test

CO level = 0.51 % vol HC level = 31 PPM  Lambda = 1.109

2nd fast idle test

CO level = 0.50 %vol HC level = 19 PPM Lambda = 1.109

and after

1st fast idle test

CO level = 0.39 % vol HC level = 29 PPM  Lambda = 1.109

2nd fast idle test

CO level = 0.37 %vol HC level = 18 PPM Lambda = 1.109

It has reduced the CO and HC level's on my de-catted car to just outside m.o.t limit! I will record fuel economy this weekend and compare to last weekend's (the car does the same journey every Friday and Saturday). It certainly reduces emissions and if it improves fuel economy, well it will pay for itself and is a bargain buy.

I will update the thread with mpg results and a further emission result early next week

Which is how they should be viewed.

Good results BB I think after a few doses I'm changing the fuel filter and oil see if that will help with a few issues!
I think I have a boost leak somewhere aswell as I can see oil from the EGR pipe so hopefully the MPG will be better as it gets serviced. I wouldn't have bothered 10 years ago, but fuel prices is like being a junkie at the pumps and long term hope it saves me some money!
