mk2 golf electrical problem. help help help.
« on: 15 March 2014, 21:20 »
Right guys or girls. I have a wonderful piece of joy in the form of a cl 4+E it's causing me some problems. It's been of road of nearly 7 months it's going back on road in April but just recently when I try to start it I don't get anything other than a clunk and thenit start the time after. But also when it's running after a while the cd player, wipers, blowers and electric boot lock won't work but then it will and I can't seem to find the problem.

I just don't know what the problem is and I can't seem to find it so was wondering if anyone here knows what it could be.  I'm at a loss with this and need help.

Thanks for any help

Could be anything. First place I'd check is fuses, then the back of the fuse box. Push all connectors /clean up and corroded connections.

Moisture / corrosion in connections. Check and clean Earth leads as well.

I had the same thing in my Mk2 Driver, i traced it back to a loose nut on the starter motor, holds earth to casing i think, tightened it up and she fired on the button.
