Ive been looking into this as well, from what ive worked out you need a little box of magic that you connect a feed from a rear speaker to and it converts into an output to be sent to the amp for your sub if that makes sense?

So it turns out you need a LOC or line out converter

Connect a fed from left and right into the LOC and place behind the head unit using this wire diagram to work out what wire this will give you your RCA outs you want

I'm in the same boat here, I have a sub and a pair of speakers (to be installed in a parcel shelf) I want to run off an amp or maybe two.

I get what an LOC does but I'm guessing I'll still need to run a remote live from the back of the RNS 510 ?

I probably would've like to keep the stock speakers running as well but whatever's easiest I guess.
