Well bought my golf knowing there was some clutch slip  but already has the G6o flywheel and vr6 clutch conversion well after two weeks of ownership i have decided its time to bite the bullet and sort it was going to be lazy and get the clutch kit and let a local garage fit it but they are wanting to much money so i will be fitting it in my garage saves labour rates!  ordered this one: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.8_1996/p/car-parts/car-transmission/clutch-and-associated-parts/clutch-kit/?641440660&1&bc37de266ef97df2f579c1787084f49d9832f815&000069
Can't wait to get this done now so i can have a decent clutch and hopefully find the fault of the existing clutch i know what company fitted it and looks like a bad job

Is that the full kit to replace the standard?

You will probably find the ring that holds the springs in the clutch has disintegrated lol mine did you could turn the clutch whilst keeping the splined part in a vice good luck with the swap it's not that bad to be fair took me about 6 hours overall on the driveway in the rain

yes three piece kit for a vr6 as its the conversion funnily enough the oem mk4 clutch is more expensive

will keep a look out for that then bud once i get the box off,hopefully the new one sorts my issue,yes doesn't look to bad a job and cheers i'll be in  a garage at least

The biggest help was when it's all unbolted rotate the gearbox diff side up and pull it off luckily I have a brute of a cousin that did that for me

Got the gearbox out earlier after fighting it out from the car,rear crank and input shaft seals all dry so good start,friction plate and release bearing are f$$$$d coverplate seen better days to and scored up so all that lots been binned  clean up and will get it re-assembled tomorrow
