going to be wrapping the trim on my mk4 took the handles off but does the insert bit that im wanting to wrap come out?

They appear to be glued on you could most likely pry them off carefully but they would need gluing back

They will break if you try to remove them, when I did mine I placed the vinyl over the whole handle and carefully cut around the insert with a sharp craft knife.

that's what I ended up doin dom, got the handles done now doing the rest of it at the weekend.
