Got the same issue on the GTD, squeaky/creaky front nearside it's been getting worse, typically the time I went to the dealer and out for a drive with a mechanic it was behaving itself but it's got worse since and will be going back. The car was put on the ramp to check for pucks but nothing

Had my GTI in a few weeks ago for squeaking  on the o/s, they replaced the top suspension mount and the strut. It was fine for a couple of weeks, then returned. It is now noisier than before could possibly be the gaitor positioning mentioned on another thread (There's a TPI no. which I have told the dealer) It's booked in next Tues. Will let you know the outcome then.

Slightly off topic but did Shark do your remap and which one did you take it to? DTUK is the same company right?

Yes it's a very squeaky car. I've managed to fix the main squeak by opening the cover that hides the phone cable.

No mate two different companies but with the New gens problem ecu's they've teamed up, dtuk provides the hardware, shark the software basically.

And yes monkey, eibach prolines lol well it was worth a shot

This is my other concern, you get it replaced and it only lasts 2mins cos the part is crap

GrahamFR: Maybe the dealer is reluctant to fit (even at your cost) because they're currently in short supply (they were)? No reason not to ask another dealership to do it. I have noticed other (lesser) noise sources.

Most notable is a hollow plastic creak coming from the passenger seatbelt clasp when the missus is in the car. Any moving around in that seat and the cable that anchors the clasp to the car creaks everytime it flexes, albeit less pronounced than the suspension mount bearing.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Well I have an internal creak which I hope to have just fixed with some double sided foam tape, on the passenger side at the bottom near the speaker, creaks after driving a bit and you can stop it by pushing the panel in, well hopefully the foam will stop the noise but if anyone is experiencing internal noises try pushing the panels in and seeing if it stops

Strange one for ya. Noise was really bad on way home last night, but this morning it wasnt there...

2 possibilities....

1) The noise is worse when warmed up or wet as it was very cold this morning - Probability 99.999%

2) The noise has magically fixed itself after a good ragging last night - Probability 0.001%

I've got mine going back in to get the drivers side top mount fixed, they did the n/s before Christmas but they wouldn't do both as they reckoned the drivers side was fine. I've also asked them to look into a fairly noticeable rattle which appears to be coming from the back, I think it might be the shocker or the bushes are completely shot. The car has just ticked over 5000 miles so I'm really hoping its not bushes.

Had exactly the same squeak, the car went into vw at 3,000 miles for new strut bearings. This fixed the problem, maybe VW have an issue here?

Yes without a doubt there's an issue, does anyone have anything official to support this? Like a fault or an official com ref number.

I'm going to get mine looked at before the first service now and it would be handy to reference it to a known issue.

Thanks

Took delivery of my new GTI over the weekend. Absolutely no issues at all, the suspension is squeak and rattle free. Hopefully it will stay this was as it is 1000x better than my first GTI.
