« on: 18 February 2014, 13:39 »
Ok so i have a 1.4....

please don't tell me not to bother with it, I am 17 and I mod what I have got on a student budget

I just want to know if anyone has done it on a 1.4 and what it actually sounds like.

Thanks.

Just go for a cat back system if you want nice exhaust note

Or get a induction kit fitted bit of engine grunt/noise

a lad near me did a corsa 1.0 sounded nice but didn't move we all just laughed at him  especially after the external mods we found out in the end it cost him near £4000 for all the extras was it worth it not a chance

a 1.4 should be a lot better to do but keep simple

Get a cheep back box, i removed the centre section on my 1.8n/a wasnt the best sounding, didnt sound terible, but was very raspy. on a 1.4 i would imagine it wouldnt sound too good.

cheep back boxes can be picked up for sub £100. heck there was a miltek r32 style twin back box for 1.8t's (i know you have a 1.4 but this is just an example) on ebay around 4 months ago that sold for sub100, and looked in good condition.

Keep it looking nice and solid until you're old enough to do an engine swap

Yea this guy is top notch, my exhaust was done with him 6 months out of practise too so far from his best work
I particularly like his welding on the flanges on my exhaust
