Like i mentioned mate, i removed the pump from the tank I sold yesterday and once you've knocked the big locking ring off it's just a case of carefully pulling the sender up and outwards whilst taking extra care not to damage the float arm (it's fiddly but far from impossible and seemed to go back in a lot easier)
Once you've pulled that out the way it'll still be attached by the two hoses, get your hand inside the tank around the actual pump and rotate it quarter of a turn anti-clockwise and it will detach from the tank base - job done
