just before I attempt to finish bora vents off (only taken me all day) is this ok?! if not how do I work round it!

Second question, how have you done it?

The boost gauge is currently wired in with a scotch lock although I have read that these aren't ideal.

Mine was scotched lock and i had no problems

Just make sure the connection is nice and tight

get some splicers from ebay, easiest neatest way of doing it imho and as Nino says its fine with the dimmer
