Abf inlet sensor
« on: 14 February 2014, 19:30 »
Really struggling to find out what the sensor is on the abf Inlet inbetween cylinder 2&3. The abf is out if a seat Ibiza with aircon, trying to find one off a vw so it says vw instead, but all around the local scrappys to me don't have this sensor, anyone have any idea?

Didn't know weather it's a switch for air con some how? Or wether it's inlet pressure ( dout it thou) or inlet temp but you have a temp sensor or the intake pipe near the airbox. Any ideas?

photo?

if it's a round sensor that has a bolt going through it that holds it against the block then i'd guess it's the knock sensor.
what's the issue with it?

No that's on the block ain't it, this is on the inlet manifold, I can't post a pic on my phone I don't think. It's a brass coloured round sensor with a single wire going to it, and I want to swap it from seat inlet to vw inlet, abf engine is out if an Ibiza and in my mk3.

It's the engine bay temp sensor to tell the fans to come on, say you've been on a run on a hot day you've just switched off and left the vehicle parked, engine bay temps will start to rise and this sensor will kick the fans in,not all abfs have this.

It was fitted with Air con as far as I know.
Mine has it (and Air Con) and none of my mates' 16vs have had it fitted (all without Air Con)

Snap. My neighbours knocked on the door a couple of times wondering why it was making funny noises. Ha
