Problem number 2

Well my rough idle has been sorted now after weeks of hunting for it, it came down to 2 air leaks. One leak on the pipe from the brake servo to the inlet and the other on a breather pipe right beneath the inlet so thanks for all the help :-)

Anyway problem 2 is the coolant temp sensor. When I drive, the temp gauge drops and when stood still it's rises to the correct temp of 90 until I set of again and then it drops. Got it code read and came up with coolant temp Sensor so I changed this. The problem is still there and was code read again and is coming up with coolant temp sensor implausible signal?? Anyone have any ideas? Maybe a faulty new temp sensor?

Sound like the thermostat needs replacing. I would replace that

yeah sounds like thermostat. best to change both if you can.

It will be the thermostat as you have already changed the twmp sensor. Just ensure you use oem parts and not cheap crap

Opps...just noticed he said he already changed the temp sendor

Did you use a genuine temp sender?

I'm not sure but I doubt it as it was a local garage who ordered the part and fitted it, so guess it was from there parts supplier.

I have a spare brand new genuine sensor if your after one?

A cheap sensor could well be the problem, they are notorious for failing prematurely
