Productive afternoon
« on: 04 February 2014, 18:00 »
So I finished work early today and seeing as it was dry I decided to do some long overdue maintenance
Firstly I pulled off the 007p and gave it a good clean out as I don't think it had ever been done
Then I set about taking the throttle body off which was just pure filth so that got a good polishing through
Customised my new engine cover to fit properly just needs spraying/wrapping to look pretty
Sorted my gear shifter alignment to get first gear easily
Did an oil and filter change
And lastly moved my catch can down a bit

After all of the above the car is now so much better was pushing 11-12 psi now at 15-16 pulls so hard now so happy with it

An afternoon well spent then. Did you get the revised piston kit for your 007? If not then i would speak with forge. They normaly send one out in the post for free.

It should be realigned technically. But the car relearned and aligns itself after so many miles. I've done mine a couple of times and never aligned it with vagcom.

If you've got a DBW kit don't force the butterfly valve. I you leave it plugged in turn the ignition one click and put something on the accelerator and it'll open it.
