Does anyone manufacture a downpipe and sports cat that will bolt up to the O.E cat back exhaust. Will the car pass an mot afterwards.

Depending on the diameter of your down pipe, you may need a reducer sleeve to mate the downpipe with the oem cat back.

Also you should be able to pass the MOT emissions test with a 100 or 200 cel sports cat.
Without traction power is nothing!

I found a eurojet downpipe and sport cat that should mate up to the remaining O.E. exhaust system for under 500  pounds

I think AMD in Essex can do custom exhausts, although BCS do them as well, have a Google.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Yeah, this mod is easy to do if you have the right tools and access, i found the hardest bit was getting the downpipe out from under the car, once i did that, knocking the cat out and putting it back easy :) made a fair difference as well :)

Just got my GTI back from my local mechanic , had my dv+ installed and my pre cat removed. The exhaust note is a little deeper and throttle response is better, also noticed a slight increase in mpg! You can tell the car is breathing better ,the turbo spools up a lot quicker. All in all very happy with the results !
