My manual GTD has 3900 miles on the clock now. The majority are done on my commute to & from work, although over Christmas I had a few journey's in & out of Glasgow, which was pretty much all m/way miles (approx 25 miles).
I have usually got 430 - 450 miles out of a 45 - 46 litre fill
Presumably this is very similar to most people (apart from the odd few who seem to be able to get 50 - 55 mpg which should equate to around 510 for a full tank?? No idea how they get this as I have been nowhere near.
Will this go up in the Summer when the temperatures rise? Maybe a little but I wouldn't expect too much.
Would most people consider 3900 miles 'run in'?? considering most engines nowadays shouldn't need run in as per the old days
I leave mine in normal mode most of the time (unless i'm gonna have some fun in it )
This seems to give the best mpg over the 3 modes, which is strange as you would think eco would be the best
Presumably eco mode is for long haul m/way miles

I'm in individual mode with everything set to sport with the exception of ACC which is on Eco and Climate Control which is also Eco.

On my commute (45 miles with dropping the missus of) I see between 47-50MPG. If I don't drop the missus off my commute drops to 35 miles and I get 48-54MPG.

mackandmark: My most economical mode is Sport - Normal is 10% thirstier, but also has more grunt outside the kickdown/click of the pedal travel. I think my modes are set up wrong. Sound actuator is doing most in Sport mode, but Normal has more go for me. A few people say the same, but most see best economy in Normal and best throttle response in Sport.

I have similar tank mileages to you and also have almost 4000 miles on the clock too. Not expecting much extra in true running in gains past this point, although you should get 10% more mpg in the summer than you see in the winter due to warmer ambient temps, lower air density and more humid air.

This GTD sees quite a difference for mpg between shorter and longer journeys. I get around 44/45mpg on average for a 12 mile commute, but If I go on a longer journey (35 miles each way) to see relatives then 53mpg is the norm. If I was doing at least 20 miles each way on my commute I would probably always be cracking 50mpg. I generally maintain 80mpg on the motorway/dual carriageway.

Just filled up, after 388 miles the tank range was saying 20 miles, it took 42 litres before the filler pump cut

I had 10 miles left when I filled up today and the car took 47L - I reckon you had a foamy fill, causing the pump to cut out early.

How many clicks do you do?

I find after the first click the fuel settles down the filling 'pipe' and can get more in. After 2 more clicks I stop (they're very frequent after the first one).

Not had any spillages yet

I only do one click and still manage to get 47L in close to zero - maybe Esso (my usual fill) has anti-foaming agents?
