The problem has not returned for me either. There's 8k kms on it now. Although the circumstances where it happened, idling for an hour, has not been repeated either.

Well I called the supplying dealership, and they could book me in only during the week and they warned me that if the problem was not covered under warranty that there would be an hours labour charge. £140..

So not only a day off work required but a potential £140 charge too?

Getting less impressed by the second here.
This is absolute rubbish how can it not be covered by your warranty just because the workshop cant find your fault why should you have to pay anything, id tell them to get stuffed and point out you have driving for many years and know when a car has a fault .I had a similar problem on a old Vauxhall I owned the dealership replaced various components which I had to pay for because the car was out of warranty ,i drove the car 500mtrs down the road and it had the same fault I turned around and went straight back to dealer it turned out it was a loose electrical connection on the air flow meter which just needed recrimping,to be fair the dealership refunded all of my money.
