cars dont like drinking water!!!!

BUGGER!! Like a tit I went out the other night and got myself stuck in a big BIG puddle! She has sucked up a load of water I have got the car running again thank God but there is something not quite right! I emptied out 6ltrs of water oil mix from the sump! Was horrible brown paint like texture oil! I've changed the oil 3 times and nearly all water is gone.

Now for the problem. I did a compression test all are ok apart from No.4 which is running 160psi where as the others are at 220psi. There is also a tapping sound coming from No.4 similar to tappet noise. The car itself still pulls and has ooomf but not as much as before and is lumpy on tickover? The tapping noise increases as the revs increase and on the road anything over 80mph it almost screams at me like it's rattling so much?

Need help please getting kinda scared she is dying?

Sorry fellla still a bit of a novice with the engine area what's the worst case scenario? Costs what I need to get it fixed and would I be able to test it at all?

you may have bent a valve with the amount of water sucked in causing compression to be down on that cylinder.

You would need to do a leak down test to confirm or take it to a garage with a bore camera to have a look.

That must been one deep puddle.. have you got one of them filters that sit at the bottom of the bumper or something?

get 4 new tappets for cylinder 4,  that may cure the problem.

imo if your getting the head off for work get it rebuilt fully looking at around £130 - £160
with the circumstances well worth doing could be some parts that are damage but not noticeable but ready to fail.

Yh one fecking big puddle! Considering it conked out in the middle I had to push it with water half up my shin! Shizzle where can I get that done or is it something I should be able to do? Let me have a look at what's going on strip it down otherwise I'm gunna be spanking money need to fide what it is but m4rk ill let you know asap!!
