Roughly how much do u get and do u try normally or like miss daisy? I dont know if I should change gear when the computer tells me or when I know type of thing

I find that the gear prompt can often suggest you change up much earlier than you would driving by ear and with a degree of mechanical sympathy. It's like cruise control. Other than keeping your speed in check, it's more economical to drive without it.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Range is based on the journey you are on

I normally find mine increases the morning after when the trip computer has reset

That does sound a little off my car does generally about 70 miles before the fuel gauge even starts to move.
Diagonally parked in a parallel universe.
On Order: Mk8 R, Pure White, Reversing Camera, Harmon Kardon, Heated seats all round.
Gone: Mk7.5 R, 5dr, DSG, Deep Pearl Black, 18” Cadiz, Nav, Winter Pack, Keyless, Dynaudio and Reversing camera.
Gone: Mk7 R, 5dr, DSG, Limestone Grey, 19" Pretoria's, Nav Pro, DCC, Winter Pack, Keyless, Mobile Prep and Reversing Camera.
Gone: Mk6 GTD, 5dr, Manual, Tornado Red, 18" Vancouvers, RCD510 + Dynaudio, heated seats.

The calculation and actual mileage luckily is wrong or out. Comparing to what I had and have left I still have done miles than used if that make sense. Done about 50 miles extra :)
