I don't know what mpg I'm getting but I can get about 320-330 on a full tank in sensible driving mode (55 litres) and that's not running it too far into the reserve tank.
It's a 1.6 engine so you could probably expect about the same maybe 350 depending on the condition of the engine!

55 litres and 350miles a tank - crikey !!

I've only just got my new valver and it's probably running rich with the ignition timing setup wrong.

I can only get 40 - 45 litres in her running well in to the red - that only lasts 200 - 250 miles, but that's with a few squirts ofcourse ;)

Usually a GTI driving sensibly should do around 300 to a tank I've seen from previous threads.

According to the MFA I'm getting 20 - 25 mpg average though ... so 12 gallon tank (40/45 litres) should be around 240 miles upwards.

Does anyone know the size of a valver tank ??

I've managed 52 litres in my 8v GTI and usually get 320 to 340 miles, and that is not thrashing it or going over 80pmh on motorway (been testing how economical I can get it recently).

my valver tank is only 45 unless there is another 10 litres hidden after it coughs and splutters onto the forecourt on payday morning last month :D :D  I got 46 litres in and they say the filler neck takes 1-2 litres so i reckon it's a 45 litre tank that is strange mines plastic though are all golf tanks plastic?
MPG don't know mfa buggad and between 200-300 miles to a tank depends how i drive it :d

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08
