VW Online Tracker

I have to say, I cannot believe how bad VW are for ordering a car from.

Ok, yes Im in Norn Iron (Northern Ireland) so orders may not be just a quick as the mainland but I ordered a GTD on the 27th Sept (may be a day or 2 out) and as of tonight, I still dont have a f&^king buld date. Jesus wept, when I ordered it the dealer said it would be here by the end of November  Not that I was bothered at the time, as I wanted to wait until after Jan 1st so it would be a 2014 car.

When I called the dealer (about not even having an order number after 5 weeks) I was assured my car was scheduled for BW5 2014 and should be here by the 2nd week of March, dafuq??  Now this is just turning into a fecking joke. How can a company fall so quickly behind in orders?

But in good news, I checked the order sheet from the dealer and it states delivery as 31st Jan, so I can tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine and get my deposit back in 6 weeks. (GT86 here we come)


Hi , I'm also in NI and starting to look for a GTD. What dealer are you using and if you are planning to back out of your order perhaps we could work something out??

As another member from NI I can honestly say after my experience with our largest VW dealership you are better trying mainland UK dealerships.... Overall a far better experience with greater flexibility on offers and pricing.

Ended up approximately £5k better off... Plus I am getting my car a lot earlier than quoted by the NI dealer

I have just checked and mine has moved back from Build In Progress ( which my dealer had already suggested was wrong compared to his info) and now shows as build Week confirmed as wc 13th Jan which now aligns with what he said a couple of weeks ago.
Not bothered by having to wait for it as I know it is being kept inside and as long as it is built properly with the right options. I know he will give me call when it arrives at their pdi centre and I will go and take a look to satisfy my curiosity. My dealer is very laid back and have no problem keeping it until I am ready to take delivery late April. That way the worst of the winter will be long gone and can look forward to a nice long summer and longer days to enjoy it.
Done the winter pick up and won't be doing it again !! The anticipation and excitement of owning a shiny new car disappear when it is crapped up to high heaven within hours and then it is dark more than it is light for weeks on end !!

Mine has gone from "Build in Progress" to "Build Week Confirmed" for 27/01/13.

Do you think we are getting prototypes that have been rusting in a field for 11 months??

As a side note, VW may have updated the order tracker but the build is showing as Jan 2013, not 2014

Haha  I have just checked mine and I didn't realise that it says 13/01/2013 too, good spot GTI7me. Another cock up I presume and obviously meant to be 2014??

Just checked my tracker again and it has now moved from 13/01/13 to the below:

Spoke with VW today and they have confirmed that it is still confirmed build week 3 and the status of 'Your order has been confirmed for production. Please contact your retailer for further information' is just because the tracker is undergoing maintenance!

I love how reliable the online tracker is.....    Makes the lonnnnng wait more exciting

Thanks goodness for this site as I got the same message (same build week) and thought that the dealer would have some bad news!
