« on: 02 December 2013, 13:21 »
this months episode of car problems is misfire. Im thinking coil packs maybe as the plugs were only just changed couple months ago... so any ideas on how a non mechanic minded gimp like me would be able to check

Is it misfiring under load or all the time, even when idling?

What engine code is it? AUM's can some times bring up a code showing which cyclinder has the misfire.

If its missing on idle you could try unplugging the coils 1 at a time and listen for a change.
If you have a dead coil when its unplugged the engine idle wont change at all.

Try unplugging one coil at a time, When you unplug a good coil the car will run really bad or die.
when you find a bad one there will be now change. You may have more than one dead coil.

No the ARZ doesn't have one. You should check if your car is part of the recall with VW
