Anyone managed to put Camera Alerts on the Discover Navigation Unit - Update

The reviews for all the dedicated units I have found are very variable, from OK to not worth having as many cameras missing. The PocketGPS database gets the best reviews but you need something to load it onto

I have to say it's a real disappointment that this basic feature that you'd expect satnavs to have isn't included. That's always the risk when going for a factory fitted nav you're at the mercy of their brand software but this is a glaring omission compared to industry standards (TomTom, Garmin).

There are some apps if you search "speed camera alert" in the app or play store but mixed reviews and eat your phone battery, not to mention that you look like a right mug paying for 750-1700 for nav in your brand new car and having to deploy your phone to avoid the highway paparazzi.

Just because everyone's equally guilty doesn't mean it's right. Anyone have experience with Inforad's products? Small enough to fit on your rear view mirror and no subscriptions.

Before buying this check the negative - 1 star - reviews on the Amazon listing, their database does not appear to be very acurate and that is the make or break for this type of device

Mmn, trawled through all the reviews. Wouldn't try it unless someone from a trusted source (eg this forum) had some first hand experience. Real dearth of good products out there, seems like a niche but I guess TomTom has it on lockdown.

Again the problem is none of these 'specialist' options appear to be any good at keeping their databases up to date, see the amazon listings for Roadangel products - not good.

I keep coming back to PocketGPS but their DB needs to loaded onto a smartphone or standalone GPS and finding a small easily hidden GPS which will take the DB and give load alerts is proving difficult
