« on: 20 November 2013, 20:48 »
But back in a mk2! Sold my GTD 5 years ago!!
Now is a white E plate GTi 8v (Pb engine / Wolfsburg shell / CE1 electrics)

It misfires like hell!!
So far this is list of replaced items
Plugs
Leads
Coil
Dizzy (twice as first had a faulty hall sender and made it worse!)
Fuel filter
In tank pump
Tci-m ignition booster.

Still missing badly!! Any ideas??

Replaced fusebox and fuel pump relay too as windscreen leaks and rust was an issue inside the fusebox

Being an E reg PB you will have the screw in temp sensor on the coolant housing.  Have you replaced that?

I've got one here to do, along with the small temp sensor for the clocks as it's temperamental!!

Think that's causing it??

Forgot to say the rev counter twitches just before it misfires

is it a constant misfire or intermittent? is it worse when engine hot or cold? when accelerating hard or cruising?

It's intermittent - no pattern. Does it when hot, when cold, cruising accelerating, even when decelerating, on good fuel on supermarket fuel.

Dizzy (twice as first had a faulty hall sender and made it worse!)
Was 2nd one brand new?
Was the king lead changed aswell?
Possible injector down or the wire harness is old and melted causing intermittent firing of fuel

Not a miracle cure but always worth changing if you do not know how long the old one has been in.

I might look at the coil if I was you as the rev counter works of a pulse from the coil.
as you said it happens just after it starts jumping hope this helps
