Tbh spec for spec would be fine, like i said earlier i think over time i could possibly get used to the gearbox, i've got sooo many scenarios running through my head atm, i thought i could have had my mk6 back and ordered a new one but unfortunately for me they have sold it.

I dunno......
its easy for me to say don't get stressed about it sort it out next week I had a mark 6 3 door before this one and that had been painted and it pissed me of every time I looked at it

I saw you test drove a Evoque.

There is a Evoque R coming out soon, not sure on HP but it's got a supercharged v6 engine. Bet it will be pricey though! My dealer was telling me all about when picking up the new work vehicle.

Reject it. That car is tainted in your mind now. It took forever to arrive and it's been messed about with. Liek an earlier poster, I wonder whether you've been given a hailstorm-repaired car.

My MK5 Golf 170TDI PD got clattered by a bus when it was 2 weeks old. Due to the piss poor repair job and continual remedial work (rear wheel arch of the new rear quarter panel rusted up every 3 months), I hated that car from when I finally got it back 7 weeks later to when I got shot of it via part ex 18 months later. You don't want to be resenting a £30k purchase for the whole time you own it. Get shot and get another in the spec you really want (manual).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Jim

After reading your posts about you car, I can understand how this is the last straw.

Rhyso is right about the car being rejected so keep on the right side of your Brand Manager and hopefully, it all work out OK.

PS don't go for the Evoque - 2 friends have one and wish they didn't.

Hey Jimble, I don't blame you for rejecting the car after the trouble with the paint and the DSG box. What I would do if in your shoes now is order a Golf R manual mate because lets be honest the GTI looks pretty old hat compared to the R and its not much more expensive.

Why so? I don't mean any offence to GTI owners but I think an extra 80bhp, 4wd and probably similar fuel consumption in the real world for an extra £4k is worth it.

It's value for money but an extra £4k is hardly peanuts now is it? The GTI has been on dealer forecourts less than 6 months and there is still very few on the roads. Just because the R has come along it hardly makes the car "old hat".

Sorry you might not have intended any offence but that's how it sounded to me

Sorry buddy, of course the GTI is a great car and if I could justify the fuel costs that's what I would have gone for. Its just when he was talking about an evoque I assumed he had money for an R. I take back my old hat comment as that was stupid.
