Just been offered a disgracefull trade in price with my new gti against an r from who i bought the car from. So forget the r lol

No surprise there, They will want to make at least 5k on a car that'll still have a sticker price of at least £25k for those willing to jump the queue. Keep it 2 years minimum for the depreciation to not feel such a kick in the nads.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yes mate i am going to keep my car. With my tuning box there wont be much in it with speed.
Paid £29000 from alan day. 63 plate 5 door dsg perfomance pack 230 with pan roof, sat nav and leather and he said £21000 in march with 4000 miles on it. I think that is a joke. Would have let it go for 23000 but thats an insult.

Couple of points ,the only way to do an Early GTI to R swop is to sell yourself and buy as best as possible ,been offered
list for mine twice recently , and R deals are drying up a lot of previous R owners are updating .
On performance I came out of a R32 into a new Mk6 GTI for nine months and obviously loved the handling ,then the R
arrived (mk6 ) and all the wheel spin stopped ,the extra grunt was not eaten up by the drive train .
Now back in a GTI Performance ,In the dry it's great ,but magic diff or not ,in the wet an R will be much Quicker ,
the press will sat GTI VFM ,but regardless of what they say Living with 300BHP and a massive wide torque band
in the new R ,which you can put down anywhere ,will make for great " Living With It All Year non messed around
with Driving "  That's why Ordered one

Looks like he is trying to get the discount back he gave you. While there are still people willing to buy nearly newand jump the queue he should get £27k for that. To want to get £6k profit and still make a wedge on the R is a little greedy.

Yes i agree. Will just wait and see what he comes back with.
And regarding driving in the wet. The tuning box i have gives the car torque that when i put my foot down in the rain tonight i nearly ended up in the field and that was in 3rd gear. Its far to much for it. Even the remapped ed30 had less torque but i did have better tyres lol but is amazing when it is dry it feels as fast as my ed35 remapped and it was a beast

I'm part of group of people in the motor trade on Piston Heads in a secret thread for car sales staff. There's quite a lot of trading which goes down in there (i.e. some Audi Sales Manager bought a £90k R8 off a Mercedes Sales Manager). There's a couple of small traders who run their own small site who may want to take a punt at it. Could always enquire...
If you want to give me the reg and milage
Recently sold my GTD.
